Integer Pixel Motion Estimation Optimization Algorithm of HEVC

Cui Yanson · Video Engineering · 2015

Aiming at reducing coding time consuming, the algorithm of inter pixel motion of HEVC is optimized, while keeping high compression ratio of video and same encoded image quality. Firstly, the distribution of the size of search step in integer pixel motion estimation of different video sequences is counted. Then according to statistical results, the branch search templates in different search step length are improved, while adjusting the inter pixel motion estimation termination condition. Finally, results of YUV component value, output bit stream and time-consuming are compared between before and after optimization encoded video sequences. Experimental results show that, for the class E( 1 920 × 1 080) video sequences, these video quality objective values( YUV component) fall by 0. 182 2 d B,bit rate rise to 0. 40%,and time consuming at least decrease 1. 25%.
