Study on Modular Ontology Modeling Based on ε-Connections

Modular ontology brings the idea of modularation into the domain of ontology research.Organizing ontology as an integrationi of several ontology modules,it not only facilitates the construction of ontologies,but also is conducive to the maintenance,sharing and reuse of ontologies.A three-layer architecture of modular ontology is presented in this paper,furtherly,the process of modular ontology modeling is devided into four steps:modules division,modules modeling,modules intergration and consistency test.Then,the major work of every step is expounded.Finally,an example of the modular ontology of reduser is developed to verify the feasibility of the modeling steps,in which using e-Connections as the ontology description language.
