The paper summarized the actualities and problems in the utilization of GPS for the investigation and monitor on forest pests and introduced GPS,Garmin GPS12 receiver,ArcView system and(Avenue) language briefly.The design,function and development of the ArcView3.x-based management module on GPS data were explained.The practical significance of the module was discussed in the(aspect) of the integration of GPS and GIS.
