The navigation system design of mobile robot for hospitals

The paper designs a navigation system of autonomous mobile robot using the method of combining RFID with robot vision. The system realizes self-location and navigation based on searching and recognition of RFID tag and doorplate numbers in the corri-dor. Firstly, the paper presents the whole designs of navigation system of the mobile robot. Secondly, the accessorial location method based on RFID and the recognition method of doorplate numbers based on DSP is given respectively. Finally, the paper verifies va-lidity of the system on the platform of UpVoyager mobile robot.
