Simulation analysis of inspection in process improvement

To quantitatively analyse the effect of review and improve software process,a method of simulation is put forward to calculate the result of review practice.Based on system dynamics,review activity and software process is analyzed.And a software process model is constructed.A case study is presented to valiate the model and the effect of review on project workload and duration is analysed by simulation.Through the simulation result,it is proved that increased review in a certain range can improve efficiency and enhance progress.Then automatic simulation process is established by taking cost as optimization target and setting different proportion of review during life cycle.The optimal review is calculated to support process improvement.
