The research in the application of Parallel File System

The Information Technology Center manages a large number of servers,many application systems are deployed in these servers,different deploy policies are fit for different servers.Although Parallel File System is able to improve I/O performance and calculation speed of scientific calculation program,it is not appropriate for all application systems.In this paper,an excellent filesystem benchmark tool IOzone is introduced,which is used to test filesystem peoformance in different servers.Then plenty of data are gathered,which are described in many different histograms.We can get the conclusion from these histograms that parallel file system is suitable for the applicaion system in reading and writing large files,but not fit for the application system in reading and writing small files.
