A New Type of Scheme for Improving TCP Throughput in Mobile Ad Hoc Network

Standard TCP is designed for fixed network, and it assumes that the physical layer is reliable. In mobile Ad Hoc network(MANET), these are not true any more, so the performance of TCP is poor in MANET. This paper proposes an auxiliary scheme for standard TCP, which analyzes network situation at the assistance of ICMP message, and then adjusts TCP’s windows for sending at proper time so that network throughput can be improved in MANET.
