Xiuchang Zhu · Journal of Nanjing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications · 2005
This paper first analyzes the motion estimation algorithm in the JM6,which is the reference model of H.264 and then brings forward improved scheme for the motion search of integer pixel, half pixel and one forth pixel. It adopts adaptive threshold stopping algorithm so as to decrease the time of motion search and keep the motion search resolution unchanged. The experiment results have shown that this scheme increases encoding speed with little quality degradation of the reconstructed image.
