THE APPLICATION OF NETWORK TECHNOLOGY IN THE SEISMIC INTERPRETATION SYSTEM

Computer workstation and its application software have become an indispensable important tool of finding and developing oil reservoirs for scientists and researchers in the petroleum exploration field in our country. Seismic data interpretation system developed by GeoQuest company has been widely used by scientists and researchers as an integrated software of petroleum exploration and development. The first use of the software was in 1990's by Research Center of Dagang Oil Field Company and its important role has been played in the research work in recent years. With the deepening of the exploration and development in the field, the function and efficiency demand for the software become higher and higher. The program which applies newly-developed computer network technologies to seismic interpretation system is proposed aimed at the problem that seismic interpretation system can only be run in single workstation. Through practice, good result is obtained, which provids strongly technology support for scientists and researchers. In the meantime, in order to meet the increasing demand for computer and its application software efficiency, computer visualization new concept—visualization region network technology is also proposed, and brief instruction of its function, advantages and conducting method are given in the paper, which only aims at making reference to workmate.
