Cloud model has excellent expression ability for the uncertainty concepts in our daily life.After a brief introduction of the basic theory of cloud model,three digital characteristics and cloud generator are discussed,as well as several fields in which the current applications of cloud model are very active.And then its advantages and limitations and methods in these applications are analyzed.Application methods and steps of cloud model in the prediction field are summarized and refined.And also its future research direction and focus are predicted.Finally,we look forward to the bright prospect for its development.
