Research on Application of Hibernate on Database Based on GIS

The storage and spatial analysis of spatial data is a key issue of geographic information system(GIS).It is concluded that the unified storage and management is a necessary trend for spatial data and attribute data in GIS.This paper researches the storage methods for huge volume of data in GIS firstly,and points out that the storage of object-relational database will be used in spatial database.Secondly,the combination of Hibernate technique and GIS database is discussed.Based on the discussion,the method which can encapsulate the spatial data and attribute data in the relational database using Hibernate technique is proposed.The encapsulation shields the low level operation of database and provides the programmer with the ability to manipulate the database by means of object-oriented method.The quick searching and inquire ability in relational database can be used here,and at the same time,the consistency and portability of the data can be improved respectively.
