Research Result of the Inter Prediction in H.264/AVC

In this paper,we proposed a new algorithm of the inter predication and its empirical study results.The algorithm tries to predict the homogeneous or stationary regions and to select the future mode based on the temporal and spatial correlation information in the encoded adjacent macro-blocks,thus significantly reducing the complexity of mode selection.The empirical results proved that this algorithm can significantly reduce the encoder complexity,while the coding quality suffers only marginal loss.
