This paper analyzes the characteristics of current monitoring wireless sensor networks for coal mine safety and the typical system of its coal mining entrance on the ground resolution firstly, then summarizes the AODV and DSDV routing protocols which are typical routing algorithms in WSN.In order to compare the performance of the two routing protocols in coal mine, the shadowing model simulation soft tool NS2 is chosen to evaluate the performance of the AODV and DSDV through three measure gauges,i.e.average delay of packet delivery success, packet delivery success rate and routing protocol overhead. The analytical results show that the DSDV routing protocol in a few nodes is featured by strong robustness and good virtues in coal mining entrance tunnels and it is a way to be applied to the real time monitoring networks in coal mines.
