Application of AD9858 in the Design of an Agile Frequency Synthesizer

This paper presents a fast agile frequency synthesizer with low spurious and low phase noise.TMS320VC5409 is used to control AD9858 to obtain wide band, low phase noise and high SFDR signals. The main performance of AD9858 chip and its application in frequency synthesizer with fast frequency hopping is mainly introduced in this paper. The DDS spectrum purity improvement is discussed, and the circuit scheme and the measurement data are given. This DDS can easily achieve single-tone mode, frequency-sweeping mode and phase modulation. Satisfying result is got in practical application.
