On"Science of Translating"and"Dynamic Equivalence":With a purpose to discuss with Mr. Zhang Jinghao

Mr.Zhang Jinghao thinks that the title of the book of NidaToward a Science of Translatinghas been mistranslated in China and has hence misled people to think that Nida views translating as a science.It is argued in this paper that,the translation of the title has not been misleading to people,because Nida did think that translating could be studied as a science.Mr.Zhang also thinks that the termdynamic equivalencehas been mistranslated in China.The paper argues that it has not been improperly translated but Mr.Zhang's understanding is not accurate.The paper also expresses points of view on how to correctly apprehend the concept ofdynamic equivalence.
