Research on XML-oriented data translation pattern towards SNMP MIB
Liping Zhao · Jisuanji gongcheng yu sheji · 2005
MIB is widely used for SNMP network management, but the common method for MIB compiling is insufficient to manage expanding networks because of constraints in scalability and efficiency. The characters of SMI and XML schema are first analyzed in defining SNMP MIB, and the pattern for SNMP MIB translation from SMI to XML schema is summarized. An MIB specification translator between them using XML data switching technologies and script language programming is implemented. The advantages of the proposed conversion mechanism are also discussed in the end.
