Development and Implementation of a Typical Parallel Programming Paradigm—— "Manager-Worker" in Design Pattern Way
Jinyun Xue · Computer and Modernization · 2005
PVM/MPI-based parallel programming is a method which is widely used at present, but this method burdens developer with all tasks about parallelism development. It is difficult to guarantee the quality and efficiency of software because of the lack of systemic development methods and the difference caused by programming skills and styles of different developers. This paper pursues a research on PVM/MPI-based parallel programming method and introduces the concept of design patterns .It also provides the description and the implementation of a typical parallel programming paradigm——manager-worker in design pattern way. This pattern can ease the burden on programmers largely and efficiently improve the programmability of parallel programs, thus favor programmers to achieve well-structured parallel programs when programmers face problems which can be programmed in manager-worker parallel programming paradigm.
