A digital watermarking algorithm based on K-L transform is presented.Firstly, the K-L transform is performed against the data matrix of the original image, and a principal component images with good spectral characteristics is obtained;then, the scrambling watermark message is embedded into the larger non-zero pixel values in the principal component image and the image is reconstructed. Now that the method has made good use of the K-L transform advantage that the signal's correlation is removed,so the watermark information is not easily lost when the reconstructed image is attacked. The experimental results show that the algorithm has strong robustness against JPEG compression and common geometric attacks such as rotating, cropping, and so on.Moreover, the superiority of the present algorithm is shown by comparison with the DCT and the DWT,which are the popular watermarking algorithms.
