Application of oil-drain and nitrogen-filling technique in transformer fire-prevention system

The stable operation of transformer is key to safe operation of the whole electric power system. The water spray system is the major method of fire extinguishing system for transformer in our country, which has disadvantages of needing large amount of water and water cleanup aftermaths. The working principle of the oildrain, nitrogenfilling, explosionproof, fireproof and fire extinguishing device for transformer was introduced. Technical and economic comparison of its fire extinguishing technique with three other techniques were made to prove the advantages and highlights of oildrain and nitrogenfilling technique applied in transformer fireprevention system.
