Studies on the scientific data sharing with the Web services technology

The solution scheme of data sharing system based on Web services technology is presented to solve the significant problems of data sharing in scientific database (SDB) system. That is, getting rid of hetero-structure, solving standard, achieving loose coupling and protecting data security. And what Web services is all about is described here. A three-tiered architectures model is designed and constructed, as well as how to achieve interface to its main part, Web services, and client application is introduced in detail. It is applied to the construction of Engineering Chemical Database (ECDB) system. Three hetero-structure databases, hazard chemical database, phase transition database and non-electrolyte database, have been implemented data sharing.
