To improve the performance of transmission through TCP in wired/wireless heterogeneous networks,Linearly Estimating Bandwidth(TCP_LEB),a newly receiver-driven wireless TCP congestion control mechanism, was put forward. In this mechanism, the current bandwidth and Round Trip Time(RTT) were computed in the receiver, the next available bandwidth was reckoned through the past bandwidth at the same time, and then the receiver sent the new bandwidth to the sender as a basis for sending.Compared with other similar researches, this method can obviously improve the performance of TCP in wireless network. The good performance of the algorithm was proved through the simulation results.
