Improve the Capacity of Wireless Backbone in Multi-hop Mesh Network

Xinhua Jiang · Science Technology and Engineering · 2008

Two models for packet relay and parallel processing are built for multi-hop mesh network. And serials of experiments are carried on within a multi-hop mesh testbed, which is constructed on the Linux platform based on the open source code. It is shown that the wireless backbone’s bandwidth has improved more than 200%, and only decreased 6% as one hop extended. It is also shown that the access bandwidth for wireless users would be stable as the hops increasing within finite hops.
