A Novel Object-Oriented Petri Nets and Its Applications

With the object oriented methodology, an object oriented Petri nets (OPN) is proposed, which possesses excellent modularity, reusability and maintainability. OPN possesses the main object oriented characteristics, such as encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism.The state explosion in ordinary Petri nets modeling is well avoided. The proposed OPN is applied to FMS modeling, which shows that OPN is effective and efficient. OPN is expected to be a powerful tool in DES(discret event system) modeling and simulation.
