The wireless Mesh network(WMN)based on IEEE 802.11s has emerged as a research hotspot in the maneuvering BBA technology research field. The hybrid wireless Mesh protocol(HWMP)in wireless Mesh networks is analyzed in detail. Compared with the traditional on-demand routing, the protocol has the flexibility of proactive routing protocol and effectiveness of on-demand routing protocol. The metric mechanism of the protocol was improved. It will play an important role in the application of emergency communication area.
