Routing Strategy to Avoid Blind Retransmission of TCP in LEO Satellite Network
Xuemai Gu · Journal of Nanjing University of Science and Technology · 2007
The handoff in LEO satellite networks makes TCP protocol retransmit packet blindly, and decline TCP performance. The reasons of retransmitting packet blindly are analyzed.A pre-handoff method is used and an algorithm of routing is proposed to avoid the packet being retransmitted blindly. The simulated results by OPNET indicate that the algorithm can efficiently avoid the packet being retransmitted blindly and improve the performance of TCP.The method has good compatibility with the Internet on the terrestrial network.
