Fault-Tolerant Method Research Based on HERMES Network-on-Chip

In order to solve the reliability problems on NoC,we designs the fault-tolerant switch architecture on the basis of HERMES NoC;and fault-tolerant mechanisms about FEC and ARQ varying from end-to-end to switch-to-switch on HERMES is proposed.With employing Hamming codes,DAP codes and BSC codes,the six fault-tolerant mechanism is simulated and synthesized.Then the area,delay and power overhead is compared.Results show low-area switch-to-switch mechanism is more economical than low-delay switch-to-switch and end-to-end,and the area and power overhead of DAP is smallest,while retransmission features a high capability of fault-toleration.
