The Spectral Radius of Bi-Orthogonal Wavelets and Its Application

By the error analyses of transform of bi-orthogonal wavelets,a new concept of spectral radius is defined to measure the orthogonal degree for bi-orthogonal wavelets.A class of bi-orthogonal wavelets is put forward based on the model of minimizing spectral radius,and the excellent bi-orthogonal wavelet with the filters of even length is designed.Investigation has shown that the new bi-orthogonal wavelet designed performs better than the famous 9-7 wavelet on the ability of compression coding.
