The ways of knowledge acquisition for intelligent diagnosis of machine faults are discussed systemically. A new mode solving the puzzle of diagnosis knowledge acquisition is explored. It is that the intelligence diagnosis can be acquired by using machine learning. But the analysis of knowledge discovery principle in database shows that it results in the new demands. They are that a series of new problems involving machine learning should be studied and solved beforehand.
