DIMS:A Distributed Interoperable Mediation System

Yu Liu · Computer Engineering and Science · 2002

DIMS is a query mediation framework for solving the question of collecting information among heterogeneous information sources, or among individual information sources. It allows the information user to represent queries based on personal views, not on the integration of system definitions. Its process of query mediation consists of five steps: query routing, query decomposition, parallel access planning, subquery translation and execution, and query result assembly.
