New Index Mechanism for XML Information Retrieval

As a tool of data exchange and information integration,XML(Extensible Markup Language) has become a new language online,with the advantages of self-description,nicer extensibility and independence of platform.In order to show the advantages of XML,this paper first discusses the index mechanism based on the information retrieve theory,then proposes a new concept index method to implement retrieval in both sides of context and structure.Experimental results show that the query efficiency is achieved by using this way.
