Multi-Scale Color Image Enhancement Based on Human Visual Properties

Based on the analysis of color space and color components, a novel algorithm in the frame of wavelet decomposition for color image enhancement is presented. The perceptual color space HSV (Hue-Saturation-Value) is chosen and a hybrid contrast enhancement algorithm for color image is proposed. Color image enhancement is executed for two purposes: making image looking naturally and vividly. Experimental results confirm that the proposed algorithm can be used to achieve improved color image enhancement.
