The Development of the Memetic Algorithm

Memetic algorithm proposed by Pablo Moscato is based on the simulation of the process of cultural evolution,it is a marriage between a population-based global search and the heuristic local search made by each of the individuals.The origin and development of the memetic algorithm as well as its applications in various optimization problems are introdued in the paper.
