A MAC protocol is designed in order to balance energy consumption and QoS requirement in WSN,referred as QE-MAC.On one hand,QE-MAC adopts Low Power Listening proposed by Hill to reduce energy consumption, and on the other,it can ensure the credibility of sending packet by using collision avoidance, acknowledgement, different priority,re-transmitting,reduce the latency of receiving packet by using certain short transmitting cycle. The results of simulation and test indicate that the QE-MAC can offer good QoS while ensure lower energy consumption.
