Principal axes algorithm based on image contour applied to medical image registration

AIM To perform CT MR registration. METHODS There are different medical information in different modal image. To give doctors more accurate and general image information in medical plan, the registration and fusion of images are important. Because there are clear contours in CT and MR image, we presented a registration method based on principal axes. Through matching the centrid and principal axes of image, registraion can be performed. RESULTS Practical registration was performed and the result was good. CONCLUSION This registration method has advantages of less computing time, no person needed, and the accuracy is better. So it is a good method of image registration.
