A method for constructing orthogonal symmetric compactly supported multiscaling functions with dilation factor 3 is given.First,compactly supported orthogonal complexvalued uniscaling function with dilation factor 3 is constructed by using real uniscaling function.Then by using the above obtaining complex ones,multiscaling functions with dilation factor 3 which are orthogonal symmetric are constructed.Finally,some design examples are given.
