Suggestions about Research on Development Direction of Disaster Monitoring & Early-warning Technology for Storm Surge

Direct economic loss caused by storm surge takes the first rank among all marine disasters.The author describes causes of storm surge,and finds that there is a great distance between China and developed countries in storm surge monitoring early-warning automation level,and analyzes that there exists some disadvantages in ordinary monitoring and field investigation ability,backward early-warning technology for storm surge,and problems that can not make accurate early-warning and forecasting.Taking account of existing problems,that it is very urgent to carry out research study in development direction of disaster monitoring early-warning technology for storm surge is put forward.Moreover,suggestions about establishing surge disaster database,conducting a study on developing automatic monitoring station for buoy,enhancing ordinary monitoring for storm surge,working out specification,and launching key research on monitoring early-warning technology for storm surge are also given.
