GIS Database Design for Yellow River Water Resources and Sediment Information System

The GIS database design for Yellow River water resources and sediment information system is developed using MapObjects technology and Visual Basic,which may provide the scientific basis for the integrated dispatch of water resources and characteristic of sediment in the Yellow River.The heterogeneous data model is used in the design GIS database,which is in conformity with characteristics of the valley and is fitter to managing the information.At the same time,the information system can provide referenced information of the water demand for transporting sediment in the flood season and the supporting water in the dry season,which can prevent the no flow form appearing again.
