A Data Model for XML-based Semistructured Data

An appropriate data model for XMLbased semistructured data is required before a DBMS can be built. In this paper we first discuss the description of semistructured data and then we propose an extensible XMLbased semistructured data model for capturing and querying metadata properties, and the mappings for XML data to this new data model is also presented.
