Description logic SHIQ and automatic classification of Web resources

Automatic classification of web resources is an important task for content monitoring and control on Internet. This paper proposes a new method for automatic classification of web resources, which is based on the latest technique of knowledge representation, description logics(DL). After establishing the knowledge base about web resources, this method can automatically classify web recourses by complete and sound inference algorithms equipped by description logics. This paper introduces the description logic system SHIQ, and describes briefly the formal representations of knowledge of web resources, classification axioms and the implement of automatic classification.
