A dynamic range compression algorithm with local contrast preservation

A image enhancement method is proposed to address low dynamic range image obtained by limited dynamic range of digital devices.First,a dynamic range compression format with a local-contrast-preservation algorithm(DRCLCP)is deduced.Then,an intensity transfer function is structured.The proposed DRCLCP algorithm combines with the proposed function to accomplish dynamic range compression and edge-contrast enhancement.Experimental results show that the proposed method can adaptively adjust the brightness of the very light area or dark area,highlight the image detail information and keep the original color information.
