The simple network management protocol(SNMP) management system has some weaknesses in configuration management due to limitations of SNMP.Netconf is viewed as a promising solution for configuration management. This article describes data model schemas for the network management system in extensible markup language(XML) schema, and defines a network management application operation layer on the basis of Netconf conceptual model to ensure transaction reliability. It describes the architecture and implementation model of Netconfbased configuration management system,Then it presents design pattern for building management system based on Netconf. Finally introduces some experience is introduced in developing the XML-based network management system.
