The compilation of Hong Lou Meng Chinese-English parallel corpus

This paper reports the compilation of Hong Lou Meng Chinese-English parallel corpus.The corpus consists of the 120-chapter Chinese text and three representative English translation texts.The four texts can be used either independently or combined for comparative studies.The three English texts serve as the variations across different translators' interpretation and translation techniques in handling one and the same source text.Moreover,each English text can also align up to the sentence level with the Chinese text for cross-lingual information retrieval and comparative study.
