Overview of the Research on Implicit Cognition in Motor Skills Acquisition

Types of implicit cognition in sports field include implicit memory, implicit learning and automation. Current research illustrates that compared with explicit cognition, implicit cognition is not only independent in function, but also more capable of testing subtle and complicated relation than conscious thinking that has been discovered. It can develop cognition activities automatically and shows great advantages in many aspects. In motor skill acquisition explicit cognition is the basic cognition way, while implicit cognition is the necessary supplement. These two cognition systems work in coordination with each other and have mutual transformation on certain condition.
