Smart antenna is not only an important technology of the third generation mobile telecommunication, but also one of the ten hot telecommunication technologies. It is a new concept of antenna designing on the basis of softradio, and combines the technologies of digital beamforming and softradio .So it is propitious to improve the capacity of wireless communication. In this paper, the structure and algorithm of smart antenna are mainly discussed.
