Noise Filtering of Laser Scanned Data by Use of 3D Neighbors

The noise filtering method has limitation on processing laser scanned data along the scan way. On the basis of analyzing the characteristic of laser-scanned data and its impulse noise, a new noise filter method was proposed on the basis of the new concept, 3D neighbors of laser scanned data. Example indicated that the proposed filter method outperforms other filters in noise smoothing along the scan-line way. The proposed filter method can also achieve good result in noise smoothing along the scan way.
