Network Coding in Wireless Mesh Networks:a Survey

Network coding is a new technique of communications in recent years.Network coding allows intermediate nodes to encode the received information and send it out,improve the network throughput and robustness etc.Network coding used in wireless mesh networks can significantly improve the transmission performance of multi-hop links.In this paper,we briefly introduce the basic theory of network coding and linear network coding,and then giving a general review of the latest research progress of network coding in wireless mesh networks.We describe the effect of network coding used in wireless mesh network,including improves network throughput,robustness and security.Finally we point out its future direction.
