An Adaptive Parameter Approach for Multipath Time Delay Estimation Based on Genetic Algorithm

The adaptive parameters approach for multipath time delay estimation based on fourth-order cumulants(FOC-APMTDE) can only directly achieve time delay which is the integral sample period.To overcome this disadvantage,genetic algorithm is employed for optimizing search process of time delay estimation.This method holds good performance of suppressing correlated or non-correlated Gaussian noises,and it can achieve time delay which is the nonintegral sample period accurately and directly at a low signal-to-noise ratio environment.The simulation examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of this new method.
