Cooperative caching discovery protocol for MANETs applications

Tan Jin · Journal of PLA University of Science and Technology · 2011

To save the energy and communication bandwidth efficiently, and increase accessibility extensively in large-scale mobile Ad hoc networks,a new protocol of caching discovery was presented based on the improvement of expanding ring search. This protocol adjusts the scope of search dynamically with the TTL value which is hops HSk/HCk from requested node k to data source/caching node because of the mobility of node, and reduces the control overheads of the cooperative caching discovery through stopping overmuch flooding with Chase packets at the same time. The performance analysis and simulation experiment indicate that the protocol is superior to the traditional ERS in search times and the broadcast cost in packet forward, and that the average query delay is lower than that of the traditional SimpleCache and cooperative caching CacheData strategy.
