Constitution,Representation and Semantic Computation in Lexicon Research

Based on formalist and generative approaches,this article systematically investigates the constitution and computation of lexicon,particularly I-language and lexical duplication functions,mental lexicon,phase and lexical features and computations. It clarifies the phonological tier structure,constraints and derivations in lexicon,the representational levels( EVENTSTR,QULIASTR etc) of generative lexicon and basic semantic computation procedure. Supporting parallel architecture and constraint-based linguistic theory/grammar,this paper serves to deepen significantly the foundations of lexicon, compositional operations( unifications),storage and semantic computations in the overall generative framework.
