Diagnosis of II ill-conditioning based on QR decomposition

In order to diagnose the Ⅱill-conditioning[1] of the parameter estimation system in the modern surveying and mapping data processing,the effectiveness of observation was analyzed using observation structure in the paper.Through the QR decomposition of observation matrix and transition of the analysis of the observation structure to the analysis of the R matrix,it proposed relative-volume method and explained its geometry.Examples showed that this method could accurately measure the Ⅱill-conditioning of parameter estimation system and would be a referential method for quantitative diagnosis of Ⅱill-conditioning.
